The illustration depicts the art deco style Carlton Cinema in Cosham, Portsmouth, England. The cinema was opened in 1934 but was closed in 2007, and it has been in a state of decay ever since.
The cinema was first photographed, before creating a hand-drawing in a manga-style from the result, and finally scanning into the computer to add layers of toning.
